How to add “A Touch of Blue” to your Auckland Cup Outfit

This article in its original form appears on ellerslie.co.nz

Each raceday has its own personality and dress code requirements to match, and this weekend’s Barfoot & Thompson Auckland Cup Day is no different with the introduction of  ‘style theme’ for the day.

What is it?
“A touch of blue.”

Style themes are fast-becoming a trend with our Australian counterparts on their major days and they also provide racegoers a starting point when asking the common question, “what do I wear?”.

While not a dress code requirement (you don’t have to wear blue!), this ‘nice-to-do’ addition to your outfit will help us paint the racecourse all things Auckland – a fitting nod to the day’s iconic, namesake race which has been in existence since 1874.

Whether you intend of wearing blue from head to toe, or adding a quirky blue accessory a la Anna Heinrich on Melbourne Cup Day, there is a touch of blue that will suit even the most monochrome of race goers.

Check out my style picks and must buys to add a dash of raceday glam to you Cup day outfit.
